Many people try to cure a toothache using home remedies, but these solutions only provide temporary relief. Others may go to the emergency room, but these visits do little to solve the underlying causes of the pain, such as tooth decay and infection. The only way to end toothache pain for good is to visit a dentist who can treat the tooth directly.
During your visit, Dr. Riley will ask you about your pain: when it started, where it is located, and how mild or severe it is. He will then do an exam and take x-rays of your mouth. Depending on the cause of the pain, Dr. Riley will either treat it that day or schedule a follow-up visit to perform any procedures necessary to permanently relieve the pain.
Following your visit, our dentist will give you home instructions on how to best care for your teeth. Regular visits with your dentist, along with good oral hygiene and healthy eating habits, are necessary to maintaining healthy teeth and preventing the issues that can lead to toothache pain and tooth sensitivity.
